Humpback Rams Whale Watching Boat in Maui Incident Caught on Video.
A whale watching group had an extremely close encounter with a whale this week. They were in a tour boat in Hawaii whale watching, when one of the giant creatures put on a show. It moved towards the boat, eventually ramming it. Neither the whale or people were hurt in the encounter.

When a mother and calf appeared just before heading back to shore, people on the boat were understandably excited.
“We thought it would be one last photo opportunity as they headed in our direction,” Rhode Island resident Jessica Napolitano told KHON.
But instead of holding a camera with two hands, folks were forced to brace for impact as the larger whale came close enough to bump the boat before swimming underneath.
An excited voice in the video can be heard yelling, “This is so awesome!”
“It seemed pretty minor, didn’t phase [the whale] at all,” Napolitano added. “She popped up on the other side of the boat with her calf and continued to swim away, although we were a little shaken at that point.”
