A video of two boys acting out various methods to kill a teacher now appears to have originated in Castlegar, in the West Kootenay region of B.C.
The six-minute video depicting two boys, aged 11 and 13, acting various scenarios on how to kill a teacher, including the use of toy guns, alarmed the police, the BC Teachers’ Federation, and many parents and students across the province.
Now we are learning the boys are actually from Castlegar, not Nanaimo as previously thought.
Castlegar RCMP say the children intended the video to be a joke.
No charges will be pursued because of their ages.
School officials are working with the RCMP to conduct a violence-risk assessment and determine what sort of action will be pursued from within the school setting.
