Canadian Faruq Khalil Muhammad ‘Isa pleads not guilty in US terror case

A Canadian has pleaded not guilty to U.S. terrorism linking him to a suicide attack in Iraq.

Federal prosecutors in New York say Faruq Khalil Muhammed Isa faces charges of conspiring to kill Americans abroad and providing material support to terrorists seeking to kill Americans abroad.

He’s accused of helping plan an attack in Mosul that killed five American soldiers, including a 25-year-old Missourian, Sergeant Edward Forrest, Jr.

“The families of these five Americans and all who have lost loved ones to acts of terrorism should know that we will never cease seeking to hold terrorists accountable for their acts. I want to thank the many agents, analysts and prosecutors who are responsible for this matter,” said Assistant U.S. Attorney General for National Security John P. Carlin in a news release.

Forrest was a 2003 graduate of Rockwood Summit High School.
