A student gored during the bull running at a festival in Spain has been transferred out of intensive care and is continuing to recover from his injuries, a hospital spokesman said on Tuesday.
The terrifying event was caught on camera, showing the bull knock over Ben Milley and then proceed to continue hitting him.
“The choice to run with the bulls could be the last choice you ever make in your life,” former bull runner Bill Hillman said. “You can die doing this and you really need to be able to take it absolutely seriously.”
A bull gored Hillman at a running last year. He’s since written a book about surviving such an event.
“If you fall, you have to stay down. Because when you are down on the ground you’re flat, and its harder for the bull to get you and gore you again.”
Milley is from Marietta, Georgia. He’s a sophomore studying Spanish and Economics at Ole Miss.
His doctors say he’s out of danger, but will not be released anytime soon. He’s still got to heal after the bull tore 16 inches out of his thigh.
