High-wire walker Nik Wallenda said on Monday he will attempt to walk atop a spinning observation wheel in Orlando, Florida, a stunt made particularly difficult because the wheel will be moving, he said.
Wallenda plans to tackle the 400-foot-tall (12.92-meter) soon-to-be-unveiled Orlando Eye this month, he said at a news conference.

The walk involves some of the same skills as wirewalking but is unique, Joseph Mascitto, a spokesman for Wallenda, said Monday.
“It involves some of the same skills as wirewalking, balance and challenging himself but he is not on a cable,” Mascitto said. “(Orlando) is close to home but one where people all over the work come and vacation in. It is an exciting opportunity. …Nik is always looking for an unique challenge. This something that is unique. He will be the first one to do this at the Orlando Eye and I imagine the only one.”
As of now, it will not be televised but if local media records the walk, then it will be shown on TV, according to Mascitto.
Wallenda, part of the renowned acrobat family, “The Flying Wallendas,” will walk a section of the wheel as it is moving and there will be a point where he will be at the very pinnacle to pose for photos.
The grand opening for the Orlando Eye is May 4.
