Police have confirmed that the woman’s body found May 4th outside of Airdrie is that of 24-year old Jessica Rae Newman. Her death has been deemed a homicide.
The Homicide Unit is questioning a number of people of interest, but they do not have any suspects at this time.
Newman went missing two months ago from the Forest Lawn area in southeast Calgary and was last seen at about 9:30 p.m. on March 10th.
Family members had earlier told members of the media they were informed the day the body was discovered that it was likely Jessica, but an autopsy was needed to be sure of the identity.
Police are still investigating her disappearance and have not yet made an arrest.
