Nicole Trunfio has followed in the footsteps of Angelina Jolie and Jerry Hall by being photographed breastfeeding her baby for the cover of a magazine.
Trunfio wears a tan suede jacket with one shoulder dropped to the side, revealing a nude top half as she breastfeeds her newborn son, Zion Rain Clark.
“Wow, Thank you to ELLE @elleaus for such a beautiful cover with my little bundle of joy! My two worlds collide in #juneissue on stands Monday! You will see a lot more of our beautiful son Zion Rain Clark (finally!!!)” Trunfio posted on instagram today, with an image of the cover.
Trunfio told Elle Magazine: “When I saw the [subscriber] cover of me breastfeeding, which was unplanned and just natural, I teared up and thought, ‘Wow this is such a special moment where my worlds have collided’.’
The magazine is maintaining the picture choice came about organically.
“This wasn’t a contrived situation: Zion needed a feed, Nicole gave it to him, and when we saw how beautiful they looked we simply moved her onto the set,” Editor-In-Chief of Elle Australia Justine Cullen says. “It was a completely natural moment that resulted in a powerful picture.”
Two different versions of the cover – featuring Trunfio and her baby – have been released so far, with one issue advertised as a subscriber copy. See the two versions – and extra photographs from inside the issue – below.
The issue hits stands on Monday. Cue the breastfeeding debate.
