Kim Kardashian Channels Marilyn Monroe on the Cover of Vogue Brazil.
Kim Kardashian scored two different covers for the magazine’s June issue. On the first, the reality star has her platinum blonde hair styled like Monroe, and flaunts her cleavage while donning gloves that are reminiscent of ones the late Hollywood icon used to wear. For the second, Kardashian is wearing a black, turtleneck crop top with long sleeves that, despite the midriff exposure, also exudes old Hollywood glam.
In Portuguese, the Vogue covers declare, “Bombshell Effect,” and promise a Q&A about Kardashian’s controversial rise in the fashion world. On Instagram, the magazine explained that they were going for a “Marilyn Monroe 2015″ look for the shoot, and with Kardashian’s hair already dyed earlier this year, no wig was necessary. The so-called “body issue” further explores how curves and silhouettes are increasingly appearing on the red carpet, and how Kardashian symbolizes that.
Kim Kardashian also shot a video for the magazine, which she posted to Instagram on Tuesday evening. The clip is set to Kanye West’s “All Day,” and features Kardashian doing her makeup and striking seductive poses. She’s quoted as telling Vogue, “I challenge anyone to try to do everything I do and then tell me whether or not I have talent.” The photos and behind-the-scenes clips were taken by Ellen von Unwerth, and the full spread hits newsstands Thursday.
