Twelve-year-old boy stabbed in the neck at Toronto hotel dies

A 12-year-old boy has died after a stabbing downtown.

Police said the boy was stabbed in the neck at the Cambridge Suites Hotel, located on Richmond Street East near Victoria Street, shortly before 6 a.m. on Wednesday.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and transferred the boy to hospital where he was treated for life-threatening injuries. The boy succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

The investigation is ongoing, and police have not provided any details on a suspect or suspects.
