Miss Zimbabwe has been officially stripped of her title after photographs emerged of her posing nude, pageant organizers announced.
The 25-year-old model and psychology graduate, was crowned Miss World Zimbabwe in April, beating 15 other models to represent the African country at this year’s Miss World competition.
However, she was forced to step down after organisers ruled she had breached a morality clause in the completion rules.
Her predecessor Thabiso Phiri was stripped of her crown after a similar scandal last year.
The organisers of the contest said Kachote’s pictures were leaked shortly after she confessed that she once posed nude.
In a statement pageant organisers explained: “This was in violation of the rules and regulations governing the trust which all contestant appended their signatures to. Miss World Zimbabwe Trust regulation number five reads: “Winners of the Miss World Zimbabwe beauty pageant, whether a title holder or a runner-up, must not have posed nude professionally or socially in all forms of media.
“Being in a relationship, sexual advances towards anyone and any behaviour categorised as immoral by the Miss Zimbabwe Trust is grounds for instant disqualification and dethronement.”
The statement went on: “The confession by Miss Emily Kachote that she once posed nude and her admission of the existence of the photos led the Trust to dethrone her since her conduct was a precise violation of rules governing the Trust.”
Kachote will be replaced with first runner-up, Annie Grace Mutambu, who will now represent Zimbabwe at the pageant in China on December 19.
