An explosion has rocked a warehouse at a US military base in the Japanese city of Sagamihara.
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution via the Japanese Broadcasting Corporation, the explosion happened near the Sagami General Depot in the city of Sagamihara.
“We’re aware of the report, but we don’t have confirmation that the explosion occurred on the base,” said Pentagon spokesman U.S. Navy Commander Bill Urban, according to Reuters.
The Sagami General Depot houses storage for petroleum products and ammunition reports the AJC.
Citing the local fire department, CNN reports that the fire was under control and there were no reports of injuries.
The cause of fire and explosions remains unknown, says CNN.
