Two weeks after colliding with a mini van in North Vancouver, 21-year-old Argentinean ballet dancer Lucila Munaretto is out of her medically induced coma and is on the road to recovery.
“This morning she asked for a cappuccino and fried chicken. She said mom are you going to cook me some chicken today”?
21 year old Argentinean Lucila (Loo-see-la) Munaretto (Moon-ar-etto) suffered brain damage, shattered her jaw, and broke her pelvis, when she collided with a mini-van while roller blading.
Friend Katie Bois (Bwa) says she’s making a remarkable recovery, and remaining positive.
“She does understand that she has some pretty serious injuries and it’s going to take her a long time to get back to where she wants to be, and I think sometimes that makes her sad, but at the same time she tells the doctors, I have to get strong very fast, because I have to dance.”
“She has a broken pelvis, but it doesn’t seem to be phasing her in the least, she’s kicking up her legs above her head and shocking the doctors with her movements. She picks up her foot and lifts up her leg above her head on both sides.”
Nearly 40-thousand dollars has been raised online for her rehabilitation.
