A brother and a sister are in hospital after being pulled from the water at Bluffers Park in Scarborough, Toronto police say.
The eight-year-old boy was rescued at the western edge of the Scarborough beach — located at the southern end of Brimley Rd. S. — around 11:20 a.m., according to police and paramedics.
First responders found the boy conscious, but in serious condition.
They managed to get a pulse from the unconscious girl, but she was in life-threatening condition Saturday evening.
The kids were taken to the Hospital for Sick Children.
Approximately 40 metres from where crews performed CPR, a City of Toronto sign warns of a potentially dangerous bottom and water conditions and that the area isn’t monitored.
