The RCMP say the father of a girl who is the subject of an Amber Alert has been found dead inside a home in southwestern Alberta.
The dead man has been identified as 27-year-old Terry Blanchette of Blairmore.
Police are investigating his death as a homicide and say it’s related to the disappearance of two-year-old Hailey Dunbar-Blanchette.
The Amber Alert is still in effect for Hailey, who is described as white, with light brown, straight hair with bangs, and brown eyes.
Mounties say the suspect fled west in a newer model white van with a large rear antenna with a flag attached.
An air and ground search has been expanded to include British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Montana.
