Dame Helen Mirren has revealed that she has has retired from on-screen nudity – at the age of 70.
Helen Mirren spoke to Alan Cummings for his CBS show Remember That Time, where she said her “pleasure pillows” are for her husband’s eyes only.
Mirren has done nude scenes for films like 1979’s Caligula and Calendar Girls in 2003 but she insisted she “never wanted” to do them.
“But you know, I thought, ‘Does it really matter?’” she asked. “It’s not a thing to get your knickers in a twist over. I was doing nude scenes from the first moment I started doing movies. It was the era.”
She added that’s one positive of “getting older,” that “you don’t have to do that sort of thing anymore. My pleasure pillows are purely for my husband.”
Us Weekly reports Mirren also joked she wasn’t aware her “boobs were legendary,” insisting, “There are much more legendary boobs than mine.”
