The body found in Va. on Thursday has been positively identified as the police officer who went missing days ago in Waynesboro, police said.
Kevin Wayne Quick, 45, of Rockfish, Va. is now confirmed dead, as state police investigate the circumstances of this case.
Anthony Stokes, Jr., Halisi Uhuru, and Leslie Casterlow face charges of principle in 2nd degree to the crime of murder.
“This means these individuals are not being charged with Quick’s homicide but in association with his death,” police said.
In addition, two Albemarle County siblings, Mersadies Shelton, 20 and Daniel Mathis, 18 are being charged with possession of stolen property/grand larceny for theft of Quick’s silver 1999 Toyota 4Runner, police said
“The Virginia State Police extends its sincere condolences to the Waynesboro Police Department, Quick family, and Waynesboro community at-large. The Waynesboro Police Department’s assistance in the ongoing investigation into Kevin’s disappearance and death has been invaluable. The department’s leadership, officers and investigators have demonstrated tremendous professionalism and a commitment to justice during the most difficult of circumstances,” police said in a news release.
