Alexandra Daddario has been cast as the female lead in the upcoming “Baywatch” movie remake.
Alexandra Daddario will play a lifeguard named Summer, joining both Zac Efron and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the latter of whom confirmed the casting news in a post on Instagram, saying: “Alex is a one of kind woman (I know from experience) and can’t wait for you guys to see her own the role.”
In addition to starring alongside The Rock in San Andreas, Daddario also appeared in the first season of HBO’s True Detective and Texas Chainsaw 3D. After The Rock’s announcement, the actress tweeted the following, with a humorous nod to Baywatch’s reputation.
Thank you! Extremely excited. Been practicing my slow-mo run all morning. https://t.co/3E2S2SlMHM
