14 people displaced by a massive fire in Brampton are now looking for the public’s help to get through the holiday season.
The fire broke out on Darras Court, located near Bramalea Road and Balmoral Drive Saturday night at around 10 p.m.
It’s believed the fire started in one townhouse and then spread to other homes. As many as eight have been damaged but no one has been injured. The Platoon Chief on site estimates that there has been more than $2 million in damge.
The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined.
Officials from Brampton’s Emergency Management Office say no young children have been affected.
The fire marshal’s office has been called in to investigate.
A Brampton resident has also set up a GoFundMe pageasking the community to help raise $25,000 for the displaced families.
One of the families displaced by the fire has also started a similar online fundraiser.
