A Manchester woman was disgusted after finding a decomposed frog in a salad she ordered from chicken chain restaurant Nando’s.
Louise Rudd made the stomach-churning discovery while eating at a Nando’s chain with her husband and son in Manchester, according to The Daily Mail.
Rudd says she found the frog at the bottom of the bowl and immediately “went to the bathroom to be sick”.
Nando’s says it launched a full investigation with its salad supplier, Salads to Go, after Rudd’s discovery.
Laboratory tests confirmed it was a European common frog in an advanced state of decay. It’s believed the frog was harvested with some of the salad’s ingredients and was missed in processing checks, reports The Independent.
A Nando’s spokesperson said additional inspections have now been introduced at the salad supplier’s factory.
Rudd, who says she hasn’t eaten a prepared salad since, has been compensated with Nando’s vouchers and an invitation to visit Salad to Go’s warehouse.
