A WOMAN discovered a birthmark was cancerous a year after it EXPLODED while she was in labour.
Mum-of-five Sam Davies, 31, lived with an unsightly blemish on her forehead for her whole life.
She told The Sun: “As my bump grew, the birthmark grew too. It was like a monster. My doctors believe that the male hormones from carrying a boy were the trigger.”
In her 32nd week of pregnancy, her birthmark exploded leaving her “panic stricken” with “blood shooting out of (her) head”.
Blood loss was so critical that Sam was rushed to hospital by ambulance and immediately taken in by surgeons to get the wound stitched up.
The brave mum was closely monitored in hospital until her son, Paul Jnr, was born in March 2013.
Davies said: ‘Now, I’m pain free and I have a scar where my birthmark once was. But just to be on the safe side, I’m not planning on having any more children – just in case the monster wakes up again.’
