Nun Helps Rescue Elderly Man’s Life After Tree Fell On Top Of Him In Wrentham.

Police say they received a call around 4 p.m. Saturday from a nun at Mount Saint Mary’s Abbey who reported a man was yelling for help in the nearby woods.

The abbey is located near the Rhode Island border and is home to an order of nuns best known for making Trappistine Quality Candy.

Police found Douglas Goldman in the woods not far from his home.

Goldman told police he was cutting down a tree with a chain saw when it fell on his leg.

He was taken to Boston Medical Center for a leg injury and hypothermia.

There’s no word on his current condition.

The nun was not identified by police.
