‘Duck Dynasty’ star Willie Robertson catches up with Barack Obama

Duck Dynasty star Willie Robertson had a quick chat with President Barack Obama during his trip to the State of the Union.

Willie Robertson made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Thursday evening. During his conversation with the late night talk show host, Robertson said he bumped into the President of the United States and had a pleasant chat as though the pair were old friends.

“Believe it or not, I happened to run into the president,” Willie Robertson said. “I did, really.”

The Duck Commander CEO recalled attempting to board an elevator as the couple was leaving, only to be told he and Korie couldn’t.

“The president is walking down the hall, and he sees me and he goes, ‘Willie! What’s up?’” Willie Robertson remembered. “And I’m like, ‘Hey! What’s up?’”

Korie Robertson said Obama ribbed her husband for his clothes, as the last time the two met was at the White House Correspondents Dinner, where Willie was wearing a tuxedo. The eldest Robertson told Obama he was, instead, wearing his State of the Union attire.

But while the president appeared to be a big fan of Willie Robertson, the Duck Commander head said one Secret Service agent wasn’t too friendly.

“This cat, I mean, I’m thinking he’s going to drop me at any moment,” Willie Robertson said. “His eyes don’t stop moving, and I’m wanting to go, bro, I’m OK. … He was freaking me out.”

Willie and Korie Robertson attended the State of the Union as guests of newly elected Rep. Vance McAllister (R-La.), who is a friend of the family. Willie Robertson campaigned for McAllister during his run in the special election to fill Rep. Rodney Alexander’s (R) seat.

While the couple waited for the president’s speech to begin, many lawmakers, including Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) approached them for photos and chatted about the show. According to Willie and Korie Robertson, a bevy of elected officials wanted to know all about the legendary Uncle Si and asked if he acts in real life as he does on “Duck Dynasty.”

“It was very strange,” Willie Robertson told Kimmel.
