Daylight Saving Time 2016: Clocks To ‘Spring Ahead’ From Sunday

It’s time to spring forward again as daylight saving time begins this weekend.

Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 13. The official start is 2 a.m., but conveniently all of your digital devices — smartphones, tablets, computers, cable television — will change automatically. You will have to adjust that analog kitchen clock or bedside alarm before you go to bed on Saturday, and your wrist watch, car radio and coffee maker clock to name a few others.

What you gain is more hours of sunlight after work or school. Sunset on Saturday, March 12 is 6 p.m. On Sunday evening, with the time change, the sun dips down at 7:01 p.m.

The seasonal change of the clock is also a good time to change the batteries in smoke alarms carbon monoxide detectors.
