Hillary Clinton has spoken about music in a Miami interview today (March 10), calling Adele her “go to voice.”
Hillary Clinton sat down with SiriusXM and talked about a hypothetical radio show, talking through what she’d play if she were put in charge.
Clinton heaped praise on the 27-year-old British singer, saying, “I just have a huge admiration for her skills, her ability, and her personality.”
Despite her fandom, Adele didn’t make the cut on Clinton’s Spotify playlist released earlier this week to mark Women’s History Month. Among the artists on the female-centric list: Beyoncé, Janelle Monae, Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera and Madonna.
In addition to Adele, Clinton said if she were to play radio disc jockey she’d be sure to spin some old-fashioned rock. “You would have classic rock n’ roll,” Clinton, 68, said. The genre, she added, is “still my favorite, partly because of what I grew up with.”
Clinton’s hypothetical radio channel might be a bit eclectic, though.
“You would also have some classical music because you know I would often listen to that when I’m working because it’s sort of soothing,” the former secretary of State said. “You know you’re doing a lot of paperwork, you’re trying to get through it, you don’t have to listen to the lyrics. It’s really kind of a way of taking it all in.”
