Jackson took to Twitter to address rumors that hit headlines earlier in the week saying he is hospitalized and on his deathbed.
Jackson tweeted a photo of himself Thursday looking happy and healthy on a deck in a tropical locale, captioned, “I am 100% Alive.” The tweet also included a link to his website, where he had posted a blog post to further deny the claims that he is deathly ill.
“The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated,” the note reads. “Please ignore all the stupid false rumors from people who seem to find humor in such topics.”
According to TMZ, the 87-year-old was undergoing a series of tests with his physician when he became weak. Doctors admitted Jackson into the hospital shortly thereafter.
The cause of his symptoms has yet to be determined.
Jermaine Jackson confirmed that his father was recovering well when TMZ caught up with the singer at the hospital. “My father’s doing much better. We were all worried,” Jackson said. “All his vital signs are great.”
According to People, Jackson appears to be on the mend.
“It was very serious, but he is out of danger now,” says a family insider, noting that Jackson remains in hospital under observation.
“We still have to keep a close watch on him,” adds the insider.
