The Moto Z modular enhancements just leaked.
Lenovo’s Motorola will unveil a new Moto Z with hardware enhancements called MotoMods. The Moto Z is the replacement to the Moto X and leaked last week. Now @evleaks, aka Evan Blass, has leaked a press shot of three MotoMods.
One of the MotoMods shown is a camera grip with optical zoom. Additionally, there is a flash bulb on left side. Specific features of this backplate are unclear at this point, but there also appears to be a physical shutter button on the right side of the backplate.
The second MotoMod shown appears to be a kickstand backplate. This, of course, would allow users to prop their Moto device up while they do things like watch videos. Judging by the added size of this backplate, it also could include a battery pack for extended battery life.
It’s hard to tell what the third MotoMod in the image is for, but we know from last week’s report that there is one coming that adds stereo speakers and another coming that includes a pico projector, so it’s presumably one of those.
Lenovo is expected to unveil the Moto Z and lower-end Moto Z Style its Tech World event on June 9th. The higher-end model will include quad HD 5.5-inch display and Snapdragon 820 chip with 3 or 4GB of RAM, while the Style variant will come with a full HD 5.5-inch display and Snapdragon 625 chip.
