A third person was arrested Saturday in connection with the murder of an Aspen, Colorado, socialite whose body was found inside her home in the chic ski resort town last month, police said.
The Aspen Daily News reports 56-year-old Katherine M. Carpenter was arrested Saturday in the death of 57-year-old Nancy Pfister. She is being held on charges of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.
Pfister’s body was found in an upstairs closet at her home Feb. 26.
On March 3, authorities arrested 65-year-old William F. Styler III and 62-year-old Nancy Christine Styler at a lodge in Basalt, where they were staying after apparently moving out of Pfister’s home Feb. 22. They are expected to be formally charged Monday with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.
Pfister was the daughter of the late Betty and Art Pfister, longtime prominent Aspen residents who co-founded the Buttermilk ski area.
