Pigs Rescued From Floods in China

Heavy floods in Anhui trapped 6,000 pigs inside a factory farm earlier this week. The farmer thought he would have to say a tearful goodbye to his beloved porkers, but there is still hope! A rescue team arrived this morning in a last ditch effort to make sure that they all didn’t turn into hogwash.

The team is using tractors and trucks to get the pigs out of there, reports ifeng.com.

Huge areas have been flooded and at least 130 people have been killed as a result. The thousands of pigs look likely to be the next casualty.

More than 10 provinces in China have suffered some of the year’s worst weather, which has brought along with it floods and landslides.

As one of the poorest provinces in China, Anhui has also been one of the worst affected since the beginning of June by the unpredictable and dangerous weather.
