Pippa Middleton, the world’s most famous bridesmaid, has just gotten engaged to her financier beau James Matthews, and the British press is expecting a wedding to rival that of her sister’s, the Duchess of Cambridge.
Kate’s sister and her now-fiancé released a statement to the Press Association confirming their engagement and when they expect to tie the knot.
“Miss Pippa Middleton and Mr. James Matthews are delighted to announce they became engaged on Sunday 17th July and plan to marry next year,” the statement read.
A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge said that they are “absolutely delighted with the news” as are Pippa’s parents.
Pippa made headlines after Kate’s wedding to Prince William in 2011 for her figure-hugging Alexander McQueen dress. Her look was praised by the public and replicas of the dress were in high demand.
