Whereas the 2017 Ford Mustang failed to achieve a satisfactory rating in Euro NCAP’s safety tests, Volvo’s all-new S90 sedan and V90 wagon find themselves at the opposite end, with a 5 star rating.
The Volvo pair performed strongly due to their package of advanced safety technologies. In common with the larger XC90, the S90 and V90 include standard-fit autonomous emergency braking – for both vehicle and pedestrian hazards – as well as lane and speed assistance.
The S90 and V90 results surpass the best overall score of any model tested last year and, and see to it that Euro NCAP’s top-3 best performing cars ever are all Volvo products.
“Volvo has invested in safety, has made key technologies standard across the model range and the results speak for themselves: a very impressive five-star rating”, said Michiel van Ratingen, Secretary General of Euro NCAP.
