The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) has named the 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack as this year’s Canadian Car of the Year at the 2017 Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto.
The winning vehicles were crowned following an intensive week of back-to-back testing by automotive journalists gathered from across Canada. Despite having driven a few dozens of new and significantly redesigned vehicles, there can only be one winner per category.
For the 2017 Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year award, the finalists were the Mercedes-Benz GLC, the Chrysler Pacifica and the Subaru Forester. As for the 2017 Canadian Car of the Year award, the finalists were the Hyundai Elantra, the BMW M2 and the Volkswagen Golf Alltrack.
Once all the votes were compiled, the winners of the coveted awards turned out to be the Subaru Forester and the Volkswagen Golf Alltrack.
