GEORGE R.R. Martin, whose series of books is the inspiration for HBO’s Game of Thrones, says the hit series could finish on the big screen.
The author floated the possibility of a Game of Thrones movie in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday.
“It all depends on how long the main series runs,” the fantasy author said. “Do we run for seven years? Do we run for eight? Do we run for 10? The books get bigger and bigger (in scope). It might need a feature to tie things up, something with a feature budget, like $100 million for two hours. Those dragons get real big, you know.“
Before we get too ahead of ourselves here let’s not forget the biggest season of the series is upcoming in a couple of weeks. There are going to be more character deaths, believe it or not, than any other season and the dragons are going to get very very big. Of the new season, showrunner David Benioff said, “there’s just no relaxing this season, if we can pull it off it’ll be the best season to date.” Can Game of Thrones get any more awesome?
