A body pulled from an Indiana lake has been identified as Michigan Dr. Teleka Patrick, who has been missing since December, Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller said this morning in a news conference
Patrick was reported missing on Friday, Dec. 6, 2013 when she failed to report for work in Michigan. Michigan authorities report she was last seen the evening before when she was dropped off at her car in a parking lot at a medical center in Kalamazoo.
An Indiana State Police trooper found Patrick’s vehicle abandoned on Dec. 5 along Interstate 94, near the exit to Lake Charles.
Indiana State Police said the investigation continues to determine the cause of death. ISP said they are awaiting toxicology results, which may provide additional information.
The Associated Press reports that Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller said at a news conference Wednesday morning that there were no signs of trauma or foul play found on the body. He said an initial cause of death appeared to be drowning.
