The family of Buffalo Bills Hall of Famer Jim Kelly said that he will not make it back to western New York for the Easter holiday.
Jill Kelly tweeted Thursday, “It looks like the family will be celebrating in New York City.” Jim is there undergoing chemotherapy for cancer.
The day before, in an interview with the Associated Press, Dan Kelly, brother of the Buffalo Bills legend, said, “We anticipate Jim coming home for this weekend. He’s put together a couple of good days in a row.”
The Hall of Fame quarterback was said to have had a few bad days the week before after his first chemotherapy session, which is particularly painful because it targets cancer cells attached to Kelly’s nerves in his maxillary sinus and adjacent tissues.
Kelly is also undergoing radiation treatment five days a week and will have two more chemotherapy sessions at Lennox Hill Hospital in NYC.
