More than 100 passengers on board a Delta Airlines plane will be screened by the FBI after the arriving flight was forced to land in a remote corner of Denver International Airport due to a threatening note.
“We were about 1,000 feet off the ground and that said that we were going to change the location outside because they found a suspicious note in the back of the plane. The stewardess did, supposedly,” said passenger Tone Sevy. “They just pulled everybody off the plane, before we got off the plane they sprayed it with water for a few seconds.”
FBI agents interviewed passengers at a secure location at DIA.
Delta Spokesperson Russell Cason said that the 151-passenger plane landed safely at 4:40 p.m. and was directed to a remote location. The passengers were cleared to return to the plane to get their personal belongings after about two hours of waiting. They are now being taken by bus to the terminal.
“We came down very fast, we went from an altitude of 30,000 and we jumped down quick,” Sevy said. He said that the atmosphere was pretty calm as the plane landed and evacuated.
