A man has been arrested in connection with the apparent murder of a woman in a Richmond apartment building, investigators say.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation launched a murder probe after a body was found just before 2 p.m. in the 7000-block of Granville Avenue Sunday.
According to police, “the preliminary information suggests that the male in custody knew the victim and it appears to be a domestic violence situation.” The man will appear in court Monday.
“We are in the very early stages of this investigation and we are working to establish what happened inside the apartment. We are asking anyone that may have heard anything or has other information to contact the IHIT Tipline,” said Cpl. Dominic Duchesneau.
IHIT is asking anyone who may have information about this homicide to call, the IHIT Tipline at 1-877-551-4448 or by email at [email protected]. If you wish to remain anonymous you can call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
