The revealing Adam Selman gown Rihanna wore to the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards yesterday was adorned with 230,000 Swarovski crystals.
It took 15 people a week to create the ‘Diamonds’ singer’s look.
Rihanna opted not to wear a bra under the sheer dress and happily showed off her breasts, defiantly asking one reporter, “Do my tits bother you?”
“I grew up in a really small island and I didn’t have a lot of access to fashion but as far as I can remember, fashion has always been a defence mechanism. I remember thinking “she can beat me, but not my outfit,”‘ Rihanna told the audience as she accepted her award.
According to renowned designer Zac Posen, The Diamond singer’s evolution from fashion novice to risk-taker with a rebellious streak has helped her become a style icon.
“She takes risks and she marches to her own drum and she knows what she likes,” Posen told The Associated Press ahead of the ceremony. “It’s been an incredible journey.”
