Peel Regional Police have arrested a 14-year-old suspect in connection with two sexual assaults that allegedly occurred on the same greenbelt pathway in Brampton.
The suspect was arrested Saturday morning by officers from the Special Victims Unit.
In the first incident on May 13, a 20-year-old woman was grabbed from behind in a chokehold as she walked along the pathway. She was then dragged into the bushes and sexually assaulted until a passerby interrupted the attack and the suspect fled.
In the second attack on May 28, a 22-year-old woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries when she was also grabbed from behind in a chokehold and sexually assaulted while walking on the pathway.
That victim managed to fight off the suspect, who fled before police arrived.
