A small private jet based in Atlanta was flown to Liberia to bring back one of the two American missionaries sick with Ebola. Dr. Kent Brantly arrived back in the U.S. Saturday morning in serious condition. But officials say Brantly was able to walk from an ambulance into the isolation unit of an Atlanta hospital as he arrived.

California Governor Jerry Brown issued a state of emergency Saturday due to more than a dozen wildfires damaging homes and forcing evacuations. The state is no stranger to wildfires, where severe drought has increased fire danger.

RCMP are saying a 24-year-old Leduc woman has died from a suspected drug overdose at the Boonstock Music Festival. Paramedics responded to a report of an overdose just before midnight Friday and RCMP say the girl was rushed to hospital where she later died.
