A scary moment this morning for passengers on a Air Canada flight from Edmonton to Toronto.
Global News reports that an emergency was declared on Air Canada flight 1174 to Toronto after a flight control indication light came on.
Const. Fiona Thivierge, a spokesperson for Peel Regional Police, said an emergency staging area was setup on runway five, but, the plane landed without incident just after 7 a.m.
“Our crew is well trained to handle these events and followed procedures by declaring an emergency,” an Air Canada spokesperson said in an e-mail.
“We are currently taking care of our customers and maintenance is inspecting the aircraft.”
Police say there were no injuries on the Airbus A320, which was carrying 87 passengers, two pilots and four attendants.
