Calgary police officially identified a man charged in connection with the disappearance of a boy and his grandparents back on June 29th.
The news came on Tuesday morning after police confirmed that a person had been taken into custody in connection with the case.
Late Monday, 54 year old Douglas Garland was led into the arrest processing unit in handcuffs and Tuesday morning officers confirmed they had laid two counts of first degree murder and one count of second degree murder.
Chief Hanson said even though charges in the case have been laid, it doesn’t mean their investigation is over because they still want to locate the bodies of the deceased.
Property owners around Calgary are again being asked to search their properties and report anything unusual.
During the exhaustive search police did reveal they were probing a failed business deal between Garland and Alvin Liknes but did not provide any other details.
