Calgary police have issued an amber alert for a five-year-old girl they believe has been abducted, after her mother was found dead in their home.
Police were called to the home in the 1000 block of Panamount Boulevard northwest about 830 Monday night when the family of a woman who lived there reported being unable to reach her. The body of a woman in her 30s was found inside the home. The death is currently being investigated as suspicious.
The whereabouts of five-year-old Taliyah Leigh Marsman remain unknown. Taliya is mixed race, with a slim build, curly brown hair and brown eyes. It’s not know who took her. A vehicle originally being sought in connection with the case, a white 2016 Ford Fusion has been located, but the girl remains missing.
Officers continue to investigate the death of Marsman’s mother in Panorama Hills, and are speaking with witnesses and persons of interest.
Anyone with information on the girl’s disappearance is asked to contact the Calgary Police Service’s non-emergency line at 403-266-1234 or 403-53-AMBER (403-532-6237).
