RCMP in Northern Alberta have made an arrest in the serious assault of a six-year-old girl.
The girl was transported to hospital by helicopter in critical condition, she was stable.
It is reported that family members said the child had been skating with friends Saturday and was then left at home with a family member.
Neither the child of the family member were there when others returned to the house, and it was initially assumed she had returned to the rink.
Family members interviewed say she was later found beaten and naked in the woods.
