A young boy was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after he was hit by a car in Monterey Park yesterday afternoon.
Just before 4 p.m., a car struck a nine-year-old boy on Catalina Bvld. near Laguna Cir. N.E. before promptly fleeing the scene.
The child, who suffered serious injuries to his lower extremities in the collision, was rushed to Alberta Childrens Hospital in stable but non-life threatening condition, Adam Loria of Calgary EMS tells the Sun.
After a search of the area, police located the vehicle a short distance away from the scene and police took a man into custody.
Charges have not yet been laid and the investigation is ongoing.
