A motorcyclist is in hospital after a noon-hour crash in the southwest.
EMS officials say the motorcycle collided with black Mercedes at about twelve o’clock at the intersection of Bow Trail and 45th Street.
Police say they were called to the scene at Bow Trail and 45 St. SW around 11:57 a.m. and police say it appears the vehicle ran a red light at the intersection and as a result hit the motorcycle.
Det. Martin Taylor said the motorcyclist was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition and the Calgary police traffic section is now investigating.
Police are also redirecting traffic in the area away from the scene and have shut down westbound traffic at 32 St. SW and access to Bow Trail is shut off starting at eastbound Sarcee Trail.
The Calgary Police Service is investigating the crash.
