Edmonton police see a bright future for you — if you avoid fraudsters posing as astrologers and psychic readers.
The Edmonton Police Service says it’s been receiving reports since April 2015 where victims are lead to believe that they are cursed with black magic or witchcraft and the fraudsters promise to remove it for a fee.
Victims have been reported in Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto, and Vancouver.
“It is difficult to track these alleged fraudsters,” explains Const. Harpreet Jhinjar with the Edmonton Police Service. “Often, these individuals are on a visitor’s visa and quickly disappear when they believe they could be caught.”
EPS has partnered up with the Canadian Border Service Agency are working together to remove those responsible from the Country and to prevent them from entering in the future.
