At least 70 animals were seized during a massive B.C. SPCA raid Tuesday evening in Surrey.
Chief enforcement officer at the SPCA, Marcie Moriarty, says 69 cats and kittens as well as 15 dogs were seized from a breeding and boarding business in Surrey.
“If you feel that there is something wrong here. If somebody says I’m going to meet you in a parking lot and deliver your puppy or your kitten well guess what you are probably buying from an unscrupulous breeder and you are probably supporting animal suffering.”
The SPCA says the owners failed to comply with previous animal welfare orders, but says it’s too early to say what charges may be recommended.
