Gatineau Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect after a woman says she was sexually assaulted in the Hull sector.
The assault occurred Wednesday at 12:40 a.m. on Cite-des-Jeunes Blvd., near the intersection of Riel Blvd., while a woman was walking alone, police said. The victim was able to defend herself and escape; the suspect then fled on foot.
He’s described as a white male, aged between 35 and 40 years old, approximately 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9, weighing 145-150 lbs. The suspect also has dishevelled shoulder-length hair, which is salt-and-pepper in colour.
He was wearing hoop earrings in each ear and had “sunken eyes,” police said.
Police say this appears to be an isolated case and are asking anyone with information to contact their Major Crime unit at 819-243-2346 ext. 6677.
Police are reminding the public that they should never hesitate to contact them with tips.
