An Edmonton woman died after a plane crashed on a golf course beside the Crawford Bay Airport in the Kootenays in British Columbia.
According to the BC Coroners Service, the 48-year-old woman died after the single-engine Cessna 172S airplane she was a passenger in crashed following a failed landing attempt at the airstrip at Crawford Bay, B.C., east of Kootenay Lake.
The airplane crashed at the nearby Kokanee Springs golf course.
While witnesses were able to extricate Lavallee from the crash wreckage, they weren’t able to revive her, the coroner said. The pilot of the plane was taken to hospital.
