A 17-year-old girl who stabbed a young man to death at a house party two years ago has been sentenced as an adult.
Jazlyn Radke who was 17 at the time of the stabbing was sentenced to life in prison without a chance of parole for seven years.
Brett Wiese, a 20-year old business student, was attacked by a group of people who were earlier kicked out of the party, but came back.
The girl was convicted of second degree murder and another man accused in the killing is due to go to trial this fall.
Brenda Wiese, the victim’s mother, said there is nothing that could bring her son back.
“I can assure you that there isn’t a criminal sentence on earth that equals the pain and despair we live every single day,” she said.
Weise added that the death of her son stood for “kindness, gentleness and goodness.”
“He is deeply loved and deeply missed,” she said. “And he has impacted many people in his short twenty and a half years.”
Brenda Wiese said she is not sure if she will attend parole hearings for Radke.
